Meet Shift2
We are proud to inform you about the merger of SIM Group and Procura. As of June 24, 2024 we will continue under the name: Shift2 (shift two). We join forces and combine our years of expertise to make government services simpler and more accessible. A special moment for both companies according to Mike de Ruiter (Managing Director) and Kaspar van der Griend (Chief Technology Officer).
An enhanced synergy
SIM Group and Procura have been leaders in public and digital government services for over 25 and 52 years, respectively. By joining forces under the name Shift2, they are combining their expertise to make government services simpler and more accessible.
Before the collaboration began in 2022, the two companies already had a connection. Both companies are part of Conxillium. A group of companies that have specialized in high-quality software for governments in the field of public affairs and public space management. That Procura and SIM Group sought cooperation within the public affairs domain was only logical for both companies.
Over the past two and a half years the SIM Group and Procura teams have already worked together intensively and successfully, and a lot has changed internally as well. Although it is not easy to successfully merge two companies, with their own cultures, everyone is now ready for the next step: continuing under the new name Shift2.
Why Shift2?
The name Shift2 reflects several core values:
- Movement, innovation and change: In the digital world, continuous innovation is essential. In addition, the dynamics between market and government are also in motion, and we are working together toward innovation and a transparent and open way of working together. Steps that Shift2 embraces.
- Team spirit: Shift also symbolizes a squad or team, which emphasizes cooperation and joint efforts. Cooperation between Procura and SIM group and cooperation between government and Shift2.
- Contact and connection: Shift + 2 forms on a keyboard the symbol @, the universal symbol for communication and connection. Exactly one of Shift2's goals; to better connect residents and government in the chains of public service.

Shift2 strives for a world where taking care of government business is as easy and accessible as using your favorite app. "Our mission is to help local governments be close to citizens where they need to be and at a distance where they can be. By doing so, we make interacting with government easier," said Mike de Ruiter.

Helping to stay remote where it can, Shift2 does so with reliable, accessible and future-proof software solutions for municipalities, water boards and provinces. For example, they help governments with accessible websites, civic affairs software, election software, digital forms, digital services and a customer contact system.
