Meet Shift2

We are proud to announce the merger of SIMgroep and Procura. From June 24, 2024, we will continue under the name: Shift2 (shift two). We are joining forces and combining our many years of expertise to make government services simpler and more accessible. According to Mike de Ruiter (Managing Director) and Kaspar van der Griend (Chief Technology Officer).

Enhanced synergy

SIMgroep and Procura have been leaders in public and digital government services for over 25 and 52 years, respectively. By joining forces under the name Shift2, they are combining their expertise to make government services simpler and more accessible.

Before the collaboration began in 2022, the two companies already had a connection. Both companies are part of Conxillium, a group of companies that specialize in high-quality software for governments in the field of public affairs and public space management. It was only logical for Procura and SIMgroep to seek collaboration in the public affairs domain.

Over the past two and a half years, the teams at SIMgroep and Procura have already worked together intensively and successfully, and a lot has changed internally as well. Although it is not easy to successfully merge two companies with their own cultures, everyone is now ready for the next step: continuing under the new name Shift2.

Why Shift2?

The name Shift2 reflects several core values:

  • Movement, innovation, and change: Continuous innovation is essential in the digital world. In addition, the dynamics between the market and government are also changing, and we are working together toward innovation and a transparent and open way of collaborating. These are steps that Shift2 embraces.
  • Team spirit: Shift also symbolizes a team, emphasizing cooperation and joint efforts. Cooperation between Procura and SIMgroep and cooperation between the government and Shift2.
  • Contact and connection: Shift + 2 on a keyboard forms the @ symbol, the universal symbol for communication and connection. This is precisely one of the goals of Shift2: to bring residents and government closer together in the chains of public service provision.

This makes interacting with the government easier," says Mike de Ruiter.
